MSS EUR HODGSON/87 Limbu alphabet book 1846 ?
		Limbu alphabet practice book with vowel signs (Limbu script and language learning guide).
		1[vol.87 fol(s)1-13 (in folds)] Limbu alphabet practice book (Liṃbuharuko Kakhaharā) by Sriphung 1846 Hand-made paper pasted with home-made glue in order to render it thick and strong, fine condition, good writing, in thyāsaphū (folded) form, adorned with coloured ink, floral designs and patterns, not numbered but can be counted as ff. 26 on the basis of its 13 folds.
				Limbu
				Limbu alphabet practice book divided into 49 sections, 1 to 10 continuously numbered with Limbu numerals but afterwards only sections 20, 30 and 40 are numbered and other sections separated only by a red mark. Written by Sriphung, who was possibly a member of Hodgson's research team. Probably rewritten or copied under the supervision of Hodgson's Newar Research Assistant Khardar Jitmohan and team members because the title description of this manuscript has Jitmohan's hand writing in Nepali and Roman. Single-line Limbu colophon at the beginning reads: "ku-ku dik cckma saptunglo, pudhuparale saptunglo Sriphungle saptunglo", which can be translated as "I made (wrote) kuku dik cakma (=guideline?), I did this on Wednesday, I Sriphung made (wrote) this". Manuscript's physical condition and quality suggest a 19th century text.
				Note: 'Sriphung' may have been the name of a Limbu scholar employed by Hodgson to compile the practice book or possibly could be a variant of the name of Sirijanga, the 18th century scholar and reformer.
